Job titles are a reliable way to predict if it’s worth considering someone for a job… but many job titles are similar. For example, if you’re looking for a Software Engineer, qualified candidates could have a Programmer, Front-End Engineer, Application Developer, or Software Architect job title.
JobScore recommendations can now account for similar job titles when scoring candidates. When you select a job title scoring criteria, you can use artificial intelligence to generate a list of similar job titles, which you can edit:
JobScore considers the criteria a match when it finds any job title you enter on a candidate’s resume. When you click to see score details, JobScore shows which job title(s) match:

As you review candidates and learn, you can refine how candidates are scored by adjusting your list of similar job titles. For even more precision, you can:
- Build multiple lists of titles and assign different importance to each criteria.
- Create different criteria for current job titles and past job titles.

When you copy a job, scoring criteria are copied as well, so if you build lists of similar job titles, it’s easy to reuse them.
We hope you use this enhancement to make our candidate scoring re-launch even more useful and powerful.
Happy hiring!
