Warning: The following role is only suitable for highly-organized, results-oriented, and process obsessed technical Project Managers. If that sounds exactly like you, please read on.
Like our wikis and communities, Wikia is passionate, high-energy and collaborative. Wikia is one of the largest "creative commons" sites in the world, as we maintain over 300,000 wikis across an impressive array of subjects, spanning all aspects of entertainment, gaming, and lifestyle. We are rated as a Quantcast Top 50, ComScore Top 100, and Nielsen Top 10 Social Media Site and are read by over 70 million unique visitors a month. Wikia was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
This will be a groundbreaking year for us as we extend our massive, fast-moving, globally-distributed platform in exciting and profitable new ways. YOU will be at the center of that effort as an integral part of the product development team, closely partnering with Engineers, Design, Community Management and Product Managers. Leading and actively participating in daily Scrums, release and sprint planning, you will navigate us over, around, and through roadblocks to ensure our products are delivered successfully. And wait, there’s more! We’ll even fly you to Europe a couple times a year to keep you in sync with our Poland-based Engineers.
You are uber organized and have better-than-excellent communication skills and your colleagues would describe you as outgoing, persuasively assertive, and diplomatic. At least 2 years of your career have been in web-based project management and some of that time was spent working in an Agile environment across time zones. You have a keen understanding of product development, Agile, and Quality Assurance. Problem-solving and decision-making come naturally and you’re not the type of person who pushes people over to run out of a burning building.
Unlike most startups, our exciting platform is also coupled with a strong work-life balance. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the revenue stream of the company, technology, and products, while having fun. For your expertise, we will offer a competitive base pay and full benefits. Our dog-friendly digs are located in San Francisco (between BART and CalTrain) and also come with a stocked pantry and gaming room, where some employees practice yoga at lunch.
