About Wildfire Interactive:
Recently selected as one of the “Best Places to Work," Wildfire is a rapidly expanding, VC-funded tech startup positioned squarely on top of the social media marketing revolution. Our platform allows brand managers and marketers of all sizes to easily attract, engage and interact with the users and fans of their brands.
Intuitive, streamlined and affordable, Wildfire's platform is simple enough for even the least tech-savvy business manager to use and flexible enough to suit the needs of the most creative marketer or advertising agency. We’ve powered over 100,000 campaigns, and we count among our clients some of the world’s largest brands, such as Pepsi, Disney, Nestle, American Express, Unilever and Toyota. The success of our product has been recognized by our growing client base as well as established institutions. Wildfire is a 2x winner of the Facebook Fund and a TechCrunch Crunchies Award nominee, was named one of the 250 best private companies in the world by 2010 AlwaysOn Global 250, and was named by The San Francisco Business Times as one of the Best Places to Work in the Bay Area.
We are looking for truly talented Ruby developers with a passion for clean code and great products. Our current technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, Resque and a variety of standalone ruby components and applications.
We're also using some NoSQL solutions; we use Redis extensively. We use Cassandra for large data volume denormalized and extensible data sets, and Mongo for dynamic documents. We select new technologies based on use cases and re-evaluate our choices regularly. This list gets longer as our problems change, so you'll need to be excited about learning and applying new solutions.
We work with the Twitter and Facebook APIs every day, so experience with OAuth or external APIs of any kind is a major plus. We also use Git - you don't need to be a ninja (you can learn from our resident expert) but you should be familiar with it.
We care about quality, both in code and in our process. We follow Scrum and have a strong scrummaster team. Writing unit tests using modern framework like Shoulda, RSpec, or Cucumber should be second nature to you, and you should be comfortable performing and receiving code reviews.
We are working on an exciting mix of improving and scaling our highly successful existing apps, as well as developing entirely new apps, and taking our architecture to the next level.
Our team is fast, smart and independent. Many of our developers are regular Open Source contributors, and we encourage Open Source contributions and community participation. It's a fun team to work with based in a really cool office in Redwood City, California. You can check out the team here: http://github.com/wildfireapp
You should be willing to relocate to the Bay Area.
