Marine Corps Heritage Center LLC is seeking a Museum Guest Services Associate to engage museum visitors in exciting and immersive experiences at the Giant Screen Certified Medal of Honor Theater (MoHT) and Laser Simulated Rifle Range (RR).

Work Location/Schedule:

Fully in-person: This is an in-person position located at 1775 Semper Fidelis Way, Triangle, VA 22172. The Medal of Honor Theater is open seven (7) days a week. Weekly work schedule may vary depending upon the operational needs of the theater including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Responsibilities:

    • Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner, creating a positive first impression for all visitors.
    • Assist visitors by providing information about showtimes, products, services, and exhibits to enhance overall Museum visitor experience.
    • Engage with Museum visitors to promote interaction with the MoHT & RR.
    • Assist with basic technical aspects, such as operating projection and sound equipment to ensure smooth operations.
    • Operate MoHT & RR equipment and process sales on a POS.
    • Quality check MoHT & RR presentation (picture, laser tracking, and sound).*noise level may be moderate to high at times.
    • Conduct engaging and informative laser firearm training sessions for individuals and small groups.
    • Uphold safety and security protocols for guests and employees. Take appropriate action during emergency situations, following company policies and procedures.
    • Monitor MoHT & RR entrances to ensuring smooth flow of guests while maintaining safety and security.
    • Work both independently and in group settings to support daily operations as well as special and private events.
    • Accomplish all tasks appropriately assigned or requested
    • Assist visitors with questions, connecting them with other MCHF/NMMC staff as appropriate.
    • Operate wheelchair lift when appropriate.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to RR participants to improve their marksmanship.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the MoHT, RR and associated spaces.
    • Stay up to date on activities and changes within the Museum to best assist visitors.

Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in retail sales or hospitality

Technological Skills:

  • Must be able to operate a computerized POS and/or ticketing system
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort using digital tools

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal communications skills, must be comfortable speaking with the public
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle cash transactions
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to initiate and follow through on work independently with little direct supervision
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with individuals of varying skills levels

Other:

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable handling modified firearms and promoting the sale of the Laser Rifle Range
  • Must report to work at the scheduled time and adhere to leave policies
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and conservative appearance during work hours
  • Ability to move or lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 20-30 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, theater equipment, and modified firearms. The employee frequently is required to be standing for long periods of time, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear both in person and over devices. The employee may be exposed to moderate to high noise levels of the audience and theater presentation. The employee is required to maneuver between aisles of theater seats for cleaning. The employee interacts in close spaces and frequently with other workers, vendors, and the general public. May be in situations which require conflict resolution. The work environment varies by temperature and conditions throughout the museum locations. There are varying degrees of noise, dust and crowding in museum locations while performing the essential functions of this job. The position works in an environment with artificial light and air.
