Summary of Position:

The Senior Director of Regulatory is responsible for the management and coordination of policies, procedures, and testing to ensure the global compliance of the beauty products which are developed and distributed by Forma 3Brands. Forma develops products across multiple brands and categories such as cosmetics, supplements, hair care, skin care etc. Oversees all product marketing and safety testing and testing. Ensures all products are globally compliant and are properly registered in international markets. “Assist with compliant distribution expansion into new markets like India, South America, and China.” Manages testing and registration budgets. Manages Regulatory Team.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Provide knowledge of current and future regulations with regards to cosmetic, skin care, hair care and supplement ingredients, labeling, claims, and other related areas of compliance. Attends regulatory conferences at least annually. Reports to the team on regulatory trends and changes in policy.
  • Develop and maintain standards and protocols to ensure compliance with various international regulations. (15%)
  • Manage and oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory notifications and registrations as required by US and international standards to ensure compliance and timely approval for market released new and existing products. (15%)
  • Develop and maintain procedures to ensure regulatory requirements are completed within established product development timelines. (15%)
  • Monitor and manage the submission of international regulatory export documentation for accuracy, completeness and timeliness. Review packaging for international compliance. (15%)
  • Implement strategies to ensure effective documentation control and management of international product dossiers and compliance files. (15%)
  • Perform literature searches and regulatory review of publications to ensure up to date compliance with international regulations and communicate findings to appropriate internal customers. (15%)
  • Identify areas of process improvement and propose new solutions designed to increase value and performance. (10%)

Fiscal Accountabilities:

  • Oversee regulatory and international registration budgets across all Forma Beauty Brands (~1.5M – annual), product testing budget etc


Key Working Relationships:

  • Manages Regulatory Team
  • Works with PD, Brand, Copy and 3rd Party Merchant Team, Sourcing and Legal


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Must have a Chemistry/Science B.S., Degree
  • Must have a minimum of 7+ years regulatory experience

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel when necessary
  • Must attend annual Regulatory Conferences

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be willing to handle, wear, test a variety of cosmetics, skin care products and fragrances

Must be able to perform essential functions (with or without an accommodation) without posing a "direct threat" to the health and safety to self or others.

Additional Information:

FORMA Brands takes a market-based approach to pay, and amounts will vary depending on your geographic location. The salary range reflected here is for positions based in the Greater Los Angeles area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future without notice.

Compensation Range: $190k - $220k
