Director – Human Resources, India

Human Resources | Hybrid in Hyderabad, India | Full Time

Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Director of HR – India will focus on implementing strategic HR initiatives to ensure Cendyn’s people practices in India are best in class and able to meet worldwide business needs. By focusing on our values of Accountability, Innovation, Collaboration, Excellent and Humanity, this role will be a key leader in delivering value-added service to management and employees that reflects and enhances the Cendyn culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the HR function for India to include but not limited to developing strategic programs and action items to address employee engagement, retention, training, and development.
  • Be able to look ahead and predict employee challenges and develop action plans to address.
  • Employ thoughtful strategies for responding to changes in the marketplace, competitive factors, and trends while continuously exploring new opportunities for process improvement.
  • Strategic thinker that aligns business needs with HR activities.
  • Administers HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits and leave; disciplinary matters and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, training and development.
  • Demonstrated high energy leader of leaders both within the HR organization and for our employees.
  • Able to manage up and down within the organization from Executive leadership to individual contributor through influence and persuasion. Align and influence business leaders to drive initiatives and change.
  • Evaluate and expand HR team to meet company growth. Demonstrated ability to lead a team – direct and indirect reports – through professional guidance, mentorship and support.
  • Be a true business partner to understand the business, its goals, and people objectives.
  • Keep the CHRO and the General Manager up to date on any potential risks or key people developments.
  • Drive a culture of high performance and results – pushing leadership and others when needed. Drive change that will benefit our employees and enhance their employee experience.
  • Manage poor performers and coach managers to develop high performance teams.
  • Forward thinker regarding headcount needs and demands based on company wide globalization plan, onboarding timeline challenges, and turnover.
  • Culture, Vision and Values: facilitate the definition and communication of the organization culture, visions and values which to guides the decisions and actions of the managers and employees of the organization.
  • Develop, monitor and report on key HR metrics that affect the business and recommend data driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with worldwide leaders to increase communication, recognition, and training of India teams.
  • Be the champion for the India team for the worldwide manager network.
  • Ensure our hiring, onboarding and management procedures are effective for diverse groups.
  • Complete ad hoc HR duties (e.g., EEOC reporting)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • At least 15 years of solid HR experience, preferably in a high growth environment.
  • HR experience working in an international / multicultural organization preferably with a US based company.
  • A strategic thinker with a strong emphasis on accountability, ensuring the effective execution of key HR initiatives and decisions.
  • Strong communications skills, including the ability to listen to the needs of others.
  • Strategic skills and the ability to look ahead for HR, company, and country priorities.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR practices.
  • Proven expertise in successful program delivery and execution
  • Consistently meet deadlines and efficiently handle daily projects and tasks.
  • Tech savvy approach, comfortable using various HR tools including HRIS, Applicant Tracking System and MS Office applications.
  • The ability to remain calm in stressful situations and deal well with conflict.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Strong morals and ethics and sound judgement.
  • Flexibility to manage fast changing priorities and very high sense of urgency.
  • Open to work with overlap of US Hours preferably till Noon Eastern Time (ET)
  • Great appreciation for diversity and working in an international team.
  • Professional communication skills and confidentiality under all circumstances.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2 PM to 11 PM IST and subject to changes by Manager’s communication. This will allow the most overlap across all US time zones to ensure adequate collaboration. This role will be working in hybrid mode and will require at least 2-3 days’ work from office at Hyderabad.
