Accountant - Cash Application

Finance | Hybrid in Hyderabad, India | Full Time

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and apply customer payments received through various channels, including checks, wire transfers, and electronic payments.
  • Verify accuracy of payment information and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Determine applicable client, product, and period information to maintain the deposit log accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile cash receipts to ensure accurate and complete recording of transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between reported payments and actual receipts.
  • Prepare and submit reports to internal management on status of deposit logs and cash applied at the client, product, and claim level.
  • Perform cash reconciliation responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and communicate with customers to address payment-related inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Work closely within the Accounting and Finance teams, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in cash applications for a global organization.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, or a related field preferred

Desired Experience:

  • Experience working with ERP software, NetSuite and Quadient AR preferred.
  • Experience working with banking portal

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday from 2 PM to 11 PM IST. This will provide healthy overlap between India team and US team and supporting both to ensure adequate collaboration. This role will be working in Hybrid Mode and will require at least 2 days’ work from office at Hyderabad.
