Wikia, is a collaborative publishing platform that enables and encourages communities to create, discover and share content on virtually any topic from games to recipes and beyond. We are the fastest growing US entertainment site in the world, and we are looking for a Director of Product to lead the Consumer and Video verticals of our product team. We’re cash-positive, founded by the same founders of Wikipedia, and are very excited about growing our 120+ person team.
As the Director of Product Management, you will manage a small team of smart folks and figure out how to shape the future of our consumer product line. You will work closely with the VPs of Business Development, Marketing, and Product & Design to make an impact on the company’s bottom line revenue. Your team of passionate, sharp Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers will look to drive the vision for consumer-facing products and features.
You are a monetization pro, and your field of expertise lies in digital content. You are hungry to get a captive audience (and by captive, really we mean fanatical). We are a data-driven organization and you must be analytical and highly evidence focused in your decision making. In addition to being product and revenue savvy, you are an experienced manager of people who is ready to mold some sharp talent. This is a high visibility, high impact role and perfect for someone who wants to own the consumer product roadmap for a company with global reach. And even though you will own the vision and high level business strategy, you also aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and write killer specs to get your team on the right track. You’re an open source advocate and a lover of community collaboration. Big points for Agile and/or MediaWiki experience.
