This team is responsible for content across the social and distributed networks that spread our story. We want to harness the explosive creative nature of the marketing team to help the world understand what makes Vungle unique, fun and engaging.  

 

Community Manager at Vungle:

Vungle is hiring a creative, energetic and social manager to be our first community manager! You will tend the roots of our developer community on a daily basis, building meaningful online relationships with developers (and brands). You live and breathe social beyond the 9-5 and understand how to build buzz, cultivate loyal users, and activate evangelists for a global brand.

 

You will monitor Vungle public presences on social media and moderate developer forums on which our publishers are active. You craft original, engaging content in high volume and publish it on an optimized schedule for maximum engagement. You are also a strategic thinker who understands the anatomy of effective tactics across different social media channels. You are open, responsive, and empathetic.

 

In this highly cross-functional role, you are the voice of our users and problem-solve with the Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams. You process suggestions, bugs, abuse and other product information to ensure we are constantly improving the user experience. You own the relationships between the Vungle platform and its users. You are the expert on building dynamic, high quality online and real-world communities and user engagement. You nurture the community and interact with our users through forums, conferences or wherever they are! You cultivate relationships with some of our most active publishers and advertisers and are in tune with the community climate. You can influence key external stakeholders to make critical product or process changes. You are well-versed in social media and online community trends, technology and strategies, and are comfortable acting in the public sphere.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Represent Vungle by actively driving, growing and managing our developer community, building healthy relationships with community power users and influencers, and engaging directly with users, online and offline.

  • Evangelize our products and educate our users via forums, blogs, events, social media, and other external communications channels.

  • Monitor developer forums and app stores after product launches and escalate negative feedback to the publisher team for timely resolution.

  • Use qualitative feedback to identify key trends and insights in user needs and communicate them. Champion recommendations for product or process changes.

  • Work with our Pub Team to lead new innovations in community programs, including process improvements, best practice sharing and measuring and driving community health metrics.

  • Develop, own and execute community strategy for the Pub and Marketing teams; contribute to Vungle's overall community strategy.

 

Essential Experience: 

 

  • A desire to do something big -- we’re making the world of advertising better -- there’s lots of reasons to get excited a

  • Experience managing brand social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook

  • Outstanding emotional intelligence

  • Impeccable copywriting and editing skills

  • Creativity and humor

  • Willingness to monitor and respond to social media activity after hours

  • Personal history as an active Twitter user

  • Mature judgment to address sensitive questions with positivity and discretion

  • Comfort with high personal visibility in the mobile app developer and ad tech communities

  • 1-4 years of experience in technology-related public or developer relations, and/or leading an online community

  • Bonus points if you have:

    • Twitter followers in the four digits, have your own GitHub profile and/or are a seasoned hackathon attendee/thrower

    • Experience managing an online-offline community in multiple geographies

    • Previously worked with developers, hardware companies or 2+ startups
