Vimeo is looking for a smart, passionate and driven Director of Business Development to join our Creator Platform team. In this new role, you will work closely with our GM, Creator Platform, to develop partnerships and execute deals that will drive subscriber growth for Vimeo across Vimeo’s three core products – Basic, Plus and Pro.  The ideal candidate takes a data driven approach to business development and has worked in a product driven digital environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the partnership and business development strategy of Vimeo’s Creator Platform to dramatically increase customer acquisition and consumer awareness
  • Research, model, evaluate, and plan for new growth opportunities in new markets and/or new partners
  • Respond to inbound inquiries with professionalism and an eye for revenue opportunities
  • Source, manage, structure and negotiate deals with relevant digital partners in an effort to broaden Vimeo’s reach with potential subscribers
  • Perform competitive market and industry research to evaluate business development partnership opportunities
  • Work with the marketing team to support implementation of Business Development campaigns
  • Measure results and performance of each deal and share findings internally
  • Utilize performance data to make business development strategy recommendations
  • Create presentations for partner meetings that highlight the benefits of partnering with Vimeo
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts with internal teams such as Product, Marketing, Analytics and Finance

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from a top tier University, MBA a plus
  • 7 years+ experience working in a client facing business development role for a media, online, or technology firm. Will also consider those with product development or corporate development backgrounds.
  • A deep understanding of subscription economics and digital content, and business models within the video, online, mobile and consumer electronics space with a comfort for technical concepts and programs
  • Successful track record in account management and partner relations, assessing and managing partnerships and business relationships that emphasize sales through interactive channels
  • Extensive experience researching, modeling, and planning for new growth opportunities that succeeded to bring in substantial new revenue
  • Start up experience preferred
  • Experience creating presentations for prospective partners and internal groups
  • Energetic, creative and hardworking, with a commitment to the business development role and doing so with excellent, results-oriented performance
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Deep understanding of internet marketing, ecommerce and customer acquisition terminology
  • Advanced quantitative / data modeling skills
  • Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills essential
  • Ability to manage high volume workload by prioritization and practical problem solving
