General Description

UNIFIED is looking for a Manager/Director of Human Resources to join our team and take the lead in bringing excellence to our Human Resources department’s development and management.  This position will work directly with our COO and SVP, Finance in establishing elite distinction in human resources management.  In the HR Manager/Director role, you will utilize your expertise to implement and oversee the establishment of the department in a startup company setting.  This position will be responsible for directing the full scope of Human Resources support to the administrative staff in our New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco offices.  Specific responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: recruiting, employee relations, coordination of the performance evaluation process, interpretation of HR policies and procedures, benefits and leave of absence administration, new hire orientation, coordination of various projects, programs and events, and other essential duties.  An exceptional commitment to confidentiality is an absolute must.  

Responsibilities

  • Establish an efficient and well-run HR department and provide on-going support for employees
  • HR consultation which includes employee relations, leadership development, performance management, compensation, and organizational effectiveness
  • Facilitate organizational change as required by the business
  • Manage business and HR projects/initiatives including Talent Review, Performance Management, Span of Control, and Diversity
  • Coordinate resources to ensure efficient and timely delivery of HR products & services
  • On-board HR Generalists and other staff to develop and implement human resources processes and programs including but not limited to:  Performance Management, Organizational Development, Talent Management, Learning and Development, Promotions / Advancement and the Compensation Review Process
  • Partner closely with HR Specialist areas:  Compensation, Recruiting, and Learning & Development to help advance strategic initiatives in support of our business goals
  • Manage day-to-day operations in human resources matters, consulting with managers on performance issues (including terminations, grievances, etc.), staffing plans and strategies, compensation plans and other issues
  • Counsel employees on various topics (grievances, terminations, etc.) while maintaining employer advocacy role
  • Manage requests and projects in all HR-related transactions (terminations, leaves, new hires, internal transfers), analytics/report generation (headcount, turnover, requisitions, merit, bonus)

  • Strong knowledge of State and Federal employment laws and their application
