We're a small but growing team with a big mission -- to help anyone learn anything, online. We're looking for folks who are incredibly hungry, passionate, smart, fun, scrappy, (we could go on :-)) to help us achieve that mission.
We already have more than 320 published instructors and more than 1,500 courses in Spanish, a figure that has doubled in the last 6 months. With the rapid growth we need someone fluent in Spanish and English who can help accelerate the sales of our Spanish content and help making our Spanish instructors more successful.
This position will be focused on growing Udemy’s sales in Spanish speaking countries. There are three main areas in which we will ask you to focus:
Establish Local Partnerships with Spanish Speaking Channels -- you will need to familiarize with the Spanish courses we offer and find the rights channels to position them. You will need to be find the right partners to work with: affiliates, blogs, deal sites, Youtube channels, etc. For instance, how can we sell our tech courses to the readers of the most popular tech blog in Spain? What is the biggest deal site in Mexico that we should be working with? Is there a popular Youtuber we can partner with to promote a drawing course on Udemy?
Work with Instructors to Promote via Their Own Channels -- you will need to advise our instructors about best strategies for them to market their courses and drive revenue. You will do this both through one on one conversations for the high potential instructors as well as through the creation of blog posts, Faculty Lounge in Spanish, podcast… to help all other instructors.
Work with the Student Marketing Team to Launch New Initiatives to Increase Spanish Sales -- you will need to work together with our marketing team and help create and launch campaigns both for user acquisition as well as targeted at our existing Spanish user base.
You will need to be creative, hands on, eager to work on multiple projects and able to change focus quickly. You’ll also need to be a rigorous prioritizer. There’s so much we can do and you’ll need to be focused and razor sharp as you choose tactics with the highest ROI. And last but not least, you will need to be a hustler in order to get the attention of the right partners that allow us to put Udemy courses in front of the right audience.
You’ll have the opportunity to have a huge impact on Udemy’s rapidly growing Spanish business.
Are you up to the challenge?
Develop and execute Udemy’s course sales strategy and goals in Spanish speaking markets. This may include: developing local marketing partnerships, acquiring Spanish-speaking affiliates and deal sites, developing Spanish-language content marketing (blogging, infographics, etc.), coordinating the creation of marketing assets and collateral,…)
Build relationships with key partners (including but not limited to: affiliates, bloggers, digital publications, youtubers) that increase the exposure and sales of Udemy’s Spanish content.
Measure and analyze the contribution of sales channels and user acquired through each channel to uncover new tactics and opportunities.
Monitor and replicate the best practices of other Spanish-speaking online markets.
Share with Spanish speaking instructors best practices on how to promote and market their courses through their own channels and utilizing social media channels (as part of this, you will set up the Faculty Lounge for Spanish instructors, a group for published instructors in which we help instructors with the promotion of their courses.
Work with Udemy’s Growth Marketing team to plan and launch new marketing campaigns targeted at Spanish students, including but not limited to paid user acquisition, SEO, email marketing
Fluent command of Spanish and English
2+ years of marketing experience at a consumer internet startup
A track record of driving millions of dollars in sales for a consumer internet company
Great client management and relationship building skills
A true love of online marketing. You follow top internet marketers, read their blogs, listen to their podcasts. Basically, you geek out on this stuff.
Creative and superb written communication with a very real, empathetic and personable tone
A team-oriented mindset and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals
A disposition for data-informed decision making; ability to write SQL queries preferred (or desire to learn…we can teach you)
A hunger to always make things better. You’re not satisfied with 5% conversion. You want 10%.
Basic knowledge of Photoshop (or desire to learn)
Basic knowledge, or willingness to learn, HTML & design landing pages
A passion for online education and consumer internet products
Highly creative and structured thinking. When you run into a brick wall you quickly come up with 10 different ways to run around it.
Flexibility and eagerness to work on different projects as they come along (in a Startup things can change very quickly and we want someone who can do that).
