The Arc of Essex County is a non-profit organization that provides programs and services for individuals with development and intellectual disabilities.We are currently recruiting for several Group Home Supervisor positions throughout Essex County.
Our Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the workflow, scheduling and staffing in conjuction with the Program Manager (Group Home Manager). The selected candidate must possess excellent communication (verbal and written skills), prior experience with developmentally disabled adults, and a high level of able to supervise and evaluate staff.
Sample Description of The Shift Supervisor's Position:
Provides supports, direct care, supervision, and skill training for individuals living in a group residential program. Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Shift Supervisor ensures the welfare of each individual by providing a safe, healthy, homelike environment, by performing the following duties. Assists in the planning of the Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP) and assumes the responsibility for the implementation and documentation of the goals and objectives designated in the IHP. Provides the Program Manager with regular reports and information regarding the individuals. Works closely with the Program Manager, Behaviorists, agency Nurses, medical care providers, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other interested parties to address the individuals' behavioral and/or medical concerns. This can include observation, reporting, documentation, direct assistance, following formal or informal plans, etc.
High School Diploma/ GED required. Bachelors degree preferred.
High proficiency in writing and communication skills required. Direct care experience with developmentally disabled adults required. Prior group home supervisory experience with developmentally disabled adults preferred. Candidate must have experience managing / supervising others. A valid driver's license required.
