SponsorPay is the world’s leading cross-platform value-exchange advertising solution. We power innovative brand engagement and direct response campaigns on social networks, mobile apps as well as online games and services.

BrandEngage, our cost-per-engagement brand advertising product, is the engine that powers our development. In just nine months since inception, it has grown to a global audience of 85+ million monthly users. Simultaneously, it has helped us secure the title of second-fastest growing digital company in Europe!

SponsorPay is headquartered in Berlin with offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, Istanbul, and Tokyo.

Our IT team is the engine that powers our growth and we’re committed to building a world-class team to drive our development. Given the fast-paced market environment and startup nature of our business, we’re constantly looking for passionate, entrepreneurial and talented people to grow our ranks.

We are primarily looking for a full-time DBA working in our Berlin office. However, if you are very experienced and work autonomously, we are also very open to discuss remote and/or part-time work.

Position Overview

As Database Administrator, you will be the master of data for our server landscape with several terabytes of structured and unstructured databases.

  • Daily tasks include the management, monitoring, optimization and backup of several database management systems (mostly MySQL, but also NoSQL and Column-Stores)
  • Support developers with schema and query design as well as the interruption-free rollout of schema migrations for huge tables
  • You provide data for import into our data warehouse and assist in its development

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • University degree or similar qualification in computer science or a related field
  • 3-10 years of experience with MySQL/Percona administration, including redundancy, replication and partitioning
  • Working-knowledge of storage technologies (disk and SSD), RAID (hard and soft) and other hardware related topics
  • Programming skills in a scripting language like Ruby, Python or Perl
  • No fear of big amounts of data and 24x7 environments
  • Respect for traditional technologies, curiosity for new ones
  • Previous work experience in a startup/agile environment is a big plus
  • Proactive, goal-oriented approach, self-contained and tenacious working style
  • Sixth sense when it comes to dodging nerf gun darts

What we offer

  • Amazingly international team with more than 130 passionate people from 30+ countries
  • Secure position at the global leader in a rapidly growing industry
  • Competitive remuneration package
  • Support and assistance in relocating from outside of Berlin
  • Working environment in which your contribution can – and will – make a difference
  • Fun workplace in one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals
