You are ready to work at a thriving and stable company, with revenue and a viable growth plan. You appreciate structure, but want to have a say on what and how projects are built and value a small and agile engineering environment - where you can tap the VP of Engineering or CTO on the shoulder and talk over the latest technologies. You want realistic timelines, clear specs and proper consideration of the business need behind the engineering work you do. You want to use new and cool technologies, with the ability to learn and work on things you haven't mastered yet.
About the Role
We are looking for experienced developers to round out our team. As engineers, beyond the ad itself, we appreciate that the industry brings in money, lots of data and interesting challenges. We have tons of real projects involving machine learning, scaling apps, performance tuning, and data collection and analysis - we get massive amounts of pretty interesting data. There is API building, often talking to Rails or Node.js. We also manage the cycle of ad campaigns, involving lots of steps, people, emails, and approvals - plenty of tool and process management stuff. There’s also room to work on improvements to our devops, deployment, and automated testing practices.
Spongecell is a profitable company headquartered in NYC with a small, growing engineering team in SF. Display advertising is growing faster than any other segment of the market and that is what we do, and we do it faster than anyone else at a lower cost. We have an eclectic team including a restaurateur, a martial arts expert, a Starcraft hero, a hard core surfer and snowboarder, and a competitive water skier. We pay well - we don't want that to be a concern. We treat you like an adult, have flexible work hours, and plenty of other perks. We also do regular bonuses & increases, offer equity, full health coverage, and a fun and stylish office to settle in at on Stevenson St. in the heart of SF. It's all about smart and curious people, being engaged, enjoying work and getting stuff done.
