The Account Director (AD) will lead a team of Account Managers, and help guide the strategy, program delivery, and revenue development for its portfolio of clients. This marketing leader is responsible for guiding Account Managers in defining search and performance marketing strategies, designing client marketing programs, evaluating the effectiveness of client programs, and recommending improvements or additional services as appropriate. The AD is also the high-level relationship owner responsible for building upper management relationships with key clients.
· Provide Strategic and Marketing Leadership
o Work with clients to uncover business needs and objectives, craft appropriate strategies, and identify/implement products/services to help achieve client goals
o Develop the importance of online marketing in client's overall marketing objectives
o Create and interpret effective analysis to support marketing recommendations
o Develop broad industry expertise. As an industry expert, this person will be relied upon by Account teams and client organizations to have honed instincts regarding optimization of online marketing campaigns
· Build and Grow Client Relationships
o Understand clients' business and generate new ideas to enhance client performance.
o Build trust, credibility, and client referrals
o Develop multi-tiered agency-client relationships and ties
o Achieve high customer satisfaction and position the agency for business development opportunities
· Effectively Manage Team
o Successfully manage and motivate a team of Account Managers
o Foster teamwork and a constructive work environment
o Provide team leadership that rewards creativity
· Manage Financial Performance
o Achieve client targets within the context of the underlying opportunity
o Maintain or improve account profitability
· Strong performance in Bachelor's degree program
· 5-10+ years of marketing, consulting, or client service industry experience
· Direct experience in search engine marketing a plus
· Very strong C-level customer service experience
· Demonstrated track record of successful client relationship development and service
· Proven success in managing teams & working cross-functionally within an organization
· Interpersonal skills - ability to build relationships
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
· Experience in a start-up or small-company environment a plus
· Technical knowledge a plus
