Customer Service/Support for Expanding Start-Up

About Us:

ShopKeep.com is changing the way small retailers (and some big ones) manage their registers at the point of sale.  Our motto is "The Simple Way to Make Smarter Business Decisions" and everything about our business reflects that, from the easy to use iPad/Mac based POS to the robust reports on the cloud based Back End.  
 
We are looking for someone with experience in supporting web based products, and offering super-user lever desktop support for windows/mac issues.  Candidates must be able to solve problems outside of pre-provided scripted answers, have the ability to debug hardware issues by phone or remote login, and put a smile on the customer's face when doing it.
 
This position will start part-time and likely move to full time.

Responsibilities:

  • Train customers on how to use ShopKeep.com over the phone and with remote login tools
  • Answer incoming support calls, chats and emails and utilize Desk.com to make sure we stay on top of customer needs
  • Work mornings and evenings, and at least 1 weekend day on a variable schedule

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting computer users fixing basic Mac issues (Setting default printers, finding "hidden" files, editing file permissions, etc.)
  • Experience training users on software products 
  • You must be able to work in our office in Manhattan's Financial District
  • An even temper in the face of frustration
  • Desktop support experience 
  • The ability to clearly explain technical concepts to people with limited computer skills
  • Basic UNIX and HTML knowlege
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks for retail

  • Ability to write understandable help desk articles
