Job Description


The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for partnering with internal customers (management and supervisory staff) to develop value-added human resources solutions, and act as point of contact with employees on human resources issues. Key responsibilities include performing and delivering various human resources functions and programs including but not limited to payroll, benefits, employee relations, succession planning, performance management, learning & development, organizational leadership and talent acquisition. Position reports to the VP, Human Resources.


  • Maintain consistent HR practices and the interpretation of policy and legislation
  • Administer and interpret company policies and procedures. Keep abreast of current employment law (i.e. EEOC, DOL, OSHA, wage and hour and workers compensation) and suggest changes to policy as appropriate
  • Identify improvement opportunities for more effective management practices, and partner with internal customers to achieve desired results
  • Serve as the employee point of contact regarding questions on HR and company policy, and interpretation of the employee handbook
  • Act as a point of contact to address human resources related questions and concerns from staff and line management
  • May participate in addressing complaints and conduct investigations as necessary relating to sexual harassment, ADA accommodation, discrimination, etc.
  • Evaluate and create job descriptions, perform market studies to assure internal and external equity with regard to FLSA and other state and federal regulations
  • Conduct market research and salary studies to ensure the competitiveness of compensation programs
  • Maintain job codes and salary grade tables for the organization
  • Work with HR team to provide reporting and analysis on HR-related data as required
  • Working with the HR team monitoring workers' compensation claims and injury reports and coordinate return to work programs
  • Work closely with the HR team to provide assistance on critical needs, coordinate corporative initiatives, and share best practices
  • Collaborative with colleagues to implement HR goals coordinating and delivering the required activities in order to meet Functional/Business Unit objectives
  • Collaborating with HR leadership in order to provide advice on HR, labor regulatory issues; providing coaching to leaders to support effective relationships with their employees
  • Implementing projects as directed by HR leadership, facilitating change management, engagement, coaching of stakeholders
  • Utilizing corporate support resources to deliver tactical and operational support by ensuring effective delivery
  • Implementing HR improvements as directed in order to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency in the site
  • Display an observable sense of urgency in the execution of daily job functions.

  • Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure and time constraints


  • Bachelors Degree preferred, preferably in HR, Organizational Development or Business Administration, High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • PHR/SPHR certification strongly desired
  • HR society or group membership and participation desired (PIHRA, SHRM, NHRA)
  • 5+ years of experience in a human resources generalist capacity
  • At least two years of experience in Mortgage Lending, Servicing, Mortgage Banking or Finance preferred


  • Experience/proficiency with HRIS software, preferably ADP
  • Experience/proficiency with ATS software, preferably Taleo
  • Experience/proficiency with LMS software
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Standard office equipment (fax, phone, copier, scanner, etc)
