POSITION/TITLE: Software Engineer

REDDWERKS SUMMARY:

Reddwerks develops and sells Warehouse Management System (WMS), Warehouse Control System (WCS), and Conveyor Control System (CCS) software for some of the largest users in the world, including four of the top ten retailers in the US, the largest distributor to convenience stores, and one of the largest parcel and logistics companies. Deploying Reddwerks v4.0 starts with our systematic, mathematical, and science-based analysis of customers’ needs, we call “Distribution Science.” Headquartered in Austin, TX, our software has been deployed in more than 60 high-volume distribution centers throughout North America.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Technology or a substantially equivalent field.
  • Skills in:
    • Java development
      • Entire Software stack: Front and Back End (preferred)
      • J2EE, JMS, Hibernate, JSP, HTML, Struts/Spring, Eclipse and Tomcat (preferred)
    • Databases
    • MySQL, SQL, Oracle, or Informix (preferred)
    • OLTP/OLAP (preferred)
    • Object-oriented design
  • Experienced in:
    • Meeting deadlines
    • Problem solving and ability to “think outside the box”
    • Working in a fast-paced environment and ability to “wear many hats”
    • Enterprise software experience (preferred)
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to customer sites nationwide

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing software development for logistics and supply chain warehousing
  • Deploying enterprise systems that require interfaces to enterprise resources planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), warehouse management systems (WMS), or warehouse control system (WCS) solutions
  • Performing advanced reporting analytics and algorithms, applying knowledge of Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE), Java Message Service (JMS), Java Transaction Services (JTS), Java Server Pages (JSPs), and Service Oriented Architecture
  • Implementing real-time systems, controls, and embedded systems
  • Deploy and design enterprise applications with rich feature sets compared with simpler consumer shopping-based web applications
  • Building and maintaining enterprise systems with 24/7 availability
  • Working with unit testing tools that improve code testing and QA timeline, applying knowledge of Junit, HTTPUnit, DBUnit and other unit testing tools
  • Implement applications for various relational databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Informix
