Freelance Senior Visual Designer

San Francisco, CA | Creative

Job Description

About Us:

RBM was born over 10 years ago in San Francisco’s multimedia gulch. Once upon a time, we were a group of geeky performance marketers. We’ve since evolved into a specialist agency of marketing technologists who work smart, play hard, and are crazy nuts about all things digital.  As our name promises, RBM is housed in a red brick building in the heart of San Francisco’s up-and-coming FolSOMA neighborhood. Our open office fosters creativity and collaboration among our engineers, analysts, designers, marketers and strategists.

We are a high performance organization that prides itself on working smart to produce game-changing results for our clients and having fun.

We are looking for agency builders. People who like to create and build really cool things. People who thrive under pressure, crave variety, welcome opportunities, take on additional responsibility and are willing to get their hands dirty. If this sounds like you, come and join in on the excitement in an ever-changing environment.

RBM is seeking exceptional senior visual designers for a variety of web, mobile, and social media projects for high-level clients. Ideal candidates possess a simple, clean aesthetic and a passion for creating fresh, compelling, and cohesive brand-consistent experiences across the digital realm.

Depending on the project, responsibilities may include:

  • Concept development for online experiences with strict adherence to brand guidelines, creative direction, and best practices
  • Overall creative development for website redesign and re-skin projects
  • Asset creation for:
  • web and mobile sites and/or apps
  • A/B testing
  • social channels
  • paid media ads
  • other assets as needed
  • Participation in client presentations of creative work

  • Ability to deliver on the big picture while maintaining eagle-eye awareness of the details that go into creating the whole
  • Demonstrated awareness of online and usability best practices
  • Experience designing for standard content management systems like Drupal and Wordpress
  • Strong knowledge of web and mobile platforms and a sense of the feasibility of design implementation across multiple platforms and browsers
  • Due to the highly collaborative nature of our work, designers must be available for occasional on-site meetings and work in our San Francisco office.

How to Apply:

  • To be considered, please submit a cover letter outlining your approach to design and links to at least three significantly different examples of your online work.
