Position Description

Reading Partners seeks a part time Office Coordinator to support operations in our downtown Oakland headquarters. This position will primarily support  Operations Manager but will also engage with the Accounting, Human Resources, and IT team for various office needs.

The ideal candidate will have superior organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills. S/he will demonstrate initiative and the ability to effectively and creatively apply her/his knowledge with minimal direction while being an important team contributor.  S/he will have a working knowledge and fluency with database applications as well as other technology tools. Effective performance requires considerable flexibility, maturity and ability to exercise tact, initiative and good judgment. S/he will have a passion for meeting the needs in underserved communities.  This is ground floor opportunity to learn the inner workings of a growing nationally scaled organization. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spearhead office supply inventory management, including purchasing and restocking of office supplies for all regional locations.
  • Ensure office cleanliness, equipment maintenance and organization. Purchase necessary items in a timely manner.
  • Orchestrate IT problem solving and delegate tasks to the appropriate resource.
  • Manage RP email distribution lists, set up new computers, update employee equipment check-out information.
  • Assist with communication between Mission Learning Center (MLC) and Reading Partners
  • Assist with office regional office duties on an as-needed-basis
  • Make copies, answer the phone, and mail requested items.
  • Assist with mail, phone, email communication, as well as filing for staff at the Oakland office
  • Assist with Executive Management Team’s expense reports
  • Support the Operations Manager with the CEO/Executive Teams’ requests, including special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Office Coordinator will report directly to Reading Partners Operations Manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous work experience in an office environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service attitude.
  • Excellent computer skills, including a typing speed of at least 60 WPM.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups
  • Ability to lift 25lbs to waist level
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Previous experience in the nonprofit sector (preferred)

Compensation:

This is a part time, hourly position. (Approximately 10-20 hours per week). The pay scale begins at $10.00 per hr depending on experience.
