At Puppet Labs we’re passionate about service and the success of our customers, and we’re hiring a customer-focused Support Engineer who shares our passion for service, systems automation, cloud, infrastructure as code and doing things the best way possible.
In this role, you will utilize your knowledge of Puppet to support our clients by assessing the nature of product or service issues and resolving their technical &/or complex support issues. You’ll engage our community, provide customer feedback to product management, assist with maintaining customer support systems, and act as a liaison between our customers and other internal teams. In addition, you’ll provide assistance as needed to our team of Professional Services Engineers who work onsite with our customers.
- Experience in a customer support role.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
- Knowledge of web application server configuration (Apache, Passenger).
- Good grasp of TCP/IP networking and debugging.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Preferred but not required:
- Familiar with source control systems such as Git.
- Experience using Puppet and configuration management systems.
- Comfortable with object oriented scripting languages (ideally Ruby).
