You have more than a few years experience managing Sales Engineers, and know how to get the best out of them. You are deeply technical with great customer skills, and know how to successfully work as a trusted advisor to ensure the success of prospects and customers, and can also build this capacity in your teammates.
When it comes to deploying mission-critical enterprise software, you are the expert; this can be demonstrated by a track record of happy, referenceable customers. They appreciate your technical acumen and your diligence; no details about a customer project get by you. You have successful experience at BI (business intelligence) or data analytics companies and want to stay in this exciting domain. When a deal needs a little nudge to close, you are brought in to get it over the line.
You have a strong background in technology (BS CS or similar) and probably a couple years experience as a developer, though you've found your passion in enabling customers' success by the use of break-out technology.
As the manager of our very talented Sales Engineering team, you will advocate and guide the team, ensuring that the team's effectively engaged with our prospects and customers. We value this team as our key technical advisors and product advocates, managing the sales process from technology evaluation through customer success, and need you to be their leader.
Working with our exec and sales teams, you will strategize and execute on key opportunities. This could include running technical presentations, meeting with and gathering technical background and requirements from customers and prospects, creating project plans, and managing implementation, and will definitely include advocating for your team. You will also oversee customer installs, configuration and troubleshooting, and, possibly, contributing to the product though real-use feedback and field development.
You are a seasoned manager of Sales Engineering, having at least five years experience managing teams of 20, give or take. Most likely, you have grown and managed global SE teams, including areas like the EU, APAC, LATAM, etc. You feel that your "SE skills" are best used indirectly, helping other SE's to achieve their goals. Your communication skills are second to none. You have presented to and handled objections from small to large customer audiences in the past. You have demonstrable experience providing technical leadership with the customer, take pleasure in getting a win-win deal sealed, then know how to follow through to ensure a delighted customer.
Your brain is always firing and you love coming up with ways to continually build trust with your teams, and create more value for our customers. You’ve had previous experience with early stage technologies and enjoy the adventure that comes along with this.
