About the Job

We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team of scientists and engineers who reinvent Digital Design and Manufacturing by implementing the cloud-deployed software tools that provide previously unseen levels of automation at various stages of the design and manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead, architect and coder extraordinaire — we need someone who takes charge and makes sure things work as intended.
  • Write elegant, maintainable, and reusable code – we need someone who can go beyond architecting a software system, and equally enjoys hands-on, deep-down coding.
  • Support testing, cloud deployment, and UI design.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in computer science, engineering or related field. M.Sc. a plus.
  • Experience leading small, high-velocity software engineering teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team -- you know how to set the pace while maintaining quality.
  • Experience with various programming and scripting languages, incl. C/C++, Java, Python.
  • Experience with web technologies: HTML, Javascript, application servers.
  • Experience developing object-oriented, production-quality, web-based software applications.
  • Experience with continuous integration, automated testing, code coverage, and other rapid application development methods and design principles.
  • A drive to stay up-to-date on the latest trends in web development and software technologies.

Desired Experience

  • Knowledge and/or experience in cloud computing and mobile platforms.
  • Experienced with design patterns.
  • Experience working in an applied R&D setting with Ph.D. level research scientists.
  • Experience using or developing tools for PLM/CAD/CAM.
  • Experience with node.js, jQuery, HTML5 (incl. WebGL, WebSockets)
