About the Job


PARC is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a position in the Hardware Systems Laboratory.  The position will support a new project in the Energy Systems Area involving the design, fabrication, and measurement of a novel cooling device utilizing complex microelectronic components. Expertise in designing and fabricating MEMS in a clean-room environment is essential, as is experience taking sensitive experimental measurements.


The successful candidate will have:

  • Ph.D in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in MEMS design and fabrication
  • Experience with careful experimental design and measurement
  • Understanding of thermodynamics, E&M, and basic electronics

Hands-on experience with thermal systems, electronics design, including high-voltage electronics, as well as physical system modeling, are also desired.
