About the Job

Responsibilities

The Hardware Systems Laboratory is seeking a highly versatile and talented PhD-level engineer to provide modeling and simulation support to a wide variety of internal research projects.   This is not a code development position – the ideal candidate is interested in broad application of modeling and simulation to accelerate feasibility and prototyping studies.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in mechanical, chemical or civil engineering or applied physics with an emphasis on numerical modeling and simulation
  • Experience with both solid mechanics and fluid dynamics modeling (FEA and CFD)

Desired Experience

  • COMSOL
  • Star-CCM+ (or Fluent)
  • Solidworks or Pro-E
  • Lumped element modeling techniques
  • Electrochemical systems modeling
