An Engagement Manager’s “typical” day includes:

  • Digest, evaluate and communicate messages across internal and external stakeholders

  • Kickoff new engagement by uncovering and mapping the client’s pains and objectives to solution best practices  

  • Complete Solution Design Document and publish to internal and external project teams for signoff

  • Navigate potential delay in client’s agency delivering assets by evaluating impact and aligning expectations

  • Have an impromptu huddle with an internal technical and a product resource to brainstorm an out of the box client idea

  • Sync on metrics and solution differentiators for an upcoming client case study with client sponsor and Mass Relevance marketing and analytics leads.     

  • Facilitate training session with client technical and marketing team prior to launch,

  • Lead post launch client Project Debrief recapping client’s original partnership goals and campaign results to date  

  • Sit in on client Sales call to discuss final product and contract questions

  • Synthesize product feedback from recent client scoping process for Mass Relevance Product team

  • Generate optimism and excitement for the value the internal team continues to deliver to our clients

  • Thrive managing a fast paced, self directed, high volume work load

  • Easily shift with the ebb and flow of a startup culture

Must Haves:

Engagement Manager candidates need to be able to prove they can deliver these key skills:

Half strategist, half executor.  This valuable resource performs with a unique blend of solution strategy and project management in order to maximize clients’ goals with creative best practices and coordinate successful deployments across internal and external project teams.

  • Filter & Articulate:  Filter and articulate updates and expectations for internal or external consumption

  • Calm the Waters:  Perform calmly and productively in disruptive and chaotic circumstances

  • Listen & Translate:  Dynamic problem solver that can digest client goals into best practice solutions

  • Dodge & Regroup:  Quickly adjust and re-chart next steps when unexpected curve balls surface

  • Weed through the Noise:  Identify and surface the root objectives, risks and next steps

  • Out of the Box:  Express opinions and objections without assuming suite with protocol

  • Learn on the Fly:  Initiative to self direct and curiosity to absorb through doing

  • Ad Hoc Confidence:  Navigate scenarios out of your comfort zone striking the right balance of humility and swagger

  • Naturally Organized:  Hone in on details and mitigate unforeseen risk without prescribed traditional project management
