Are you a MAC Layer Engineer that has participated in 802.11 standards?
This full time position is based in San Diego, CA and relocation will be provided for the right candidate.
As a Staff Engineer you will work in a team environment developing and creating up-coming WLAN standards. It will be your duty to provide detailed WLAN protocol analysis, pose solutions, and present findings to team members. An aptitude for troubleshooting is appreciated. As you create and formulate new patents you must develop methods or simulation tools to validate your concepts. By staying on top of technical developments you will issue guidance and instruction to your peers and team members. An outgoing and participatory personality is a must. Some travel is required, occasionally international, between company locations, for standards meetings and for other technical forums.
A strong background in Wireless LAN technology development and implementation
5 to 10 years industry experience is required.
Two years experience participating in 802.11 standards groups and development of standards specifications.
You must be familiar with physical and MAC layer protocols.
Systems design experience is an asset.
The ideal candidate has notable achievements as an architect of WLAN cross-layer system architecture design.
A degree in electrical or computer engineering is required, however a graduate degree (or Phd) is preferred.
Experience in writing system-level patent disclosures in the areas of WLAN and cellular communications algorithms and or systems is a bonus.
