Summer Intern - Operations Position at a Solar Energy Technology Start-Up

An innovative solar energy start-up is seeking a highly motivated individual to help in the operations of its business. This position is a summer intern in the Operations department, and would be part of the core Operational team. This person should be comfortable with a do-it-yourself atmosphere, where their success is solely dependent on their individual work input. This role would include managing inventory, accounts receivable, supply chain, solving client-facing issues as well as day-to-day tasks.

The perfect candidate for this role would be an undergrad seeking a degree in Business, Sustainability, CleanTech, or Engineering, have a strong interest in the solar/clean energy industry, and possess a can-do attitude. Aptitude for basic electrical and other technical concepts is a plus. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are required.

The company was founded in 2007, and its web-based platform enables project stakeholders to maximize the efficiency and transparency of installed systems. Locus Energy's software aggregates performance data from a network of distributed renewable systems and provides customized interfaces and analytics to owners, operators, OEMs and regulators.

• Candidate should be self-motivated and committed to doing what is required to help build the business • Bachelor’s degree candidate • Ability to work well within a small team • Excellent communication (written and verbal) as well as presentation skills. • Candidate should have strong analytical skills, and be able to quickly learn new concepts • Candidate should be interested in the renewable energy field. • Candidate who lives in/around the New York/Hoboken area.
This internship is unpaid but travel expenses will be paid for.
