Job Description

Android Developer at Kanjoya, Inc.

San Francisco, CA

Experience Project is a product that deeply enriches people's lives. 80% of our users say Experience Project has changed their life for the better. And each month:

* 4+ million meaningful friendships are formed between strangers
* 14+ million people from around the world make us their home

We are looking for people whose heart is as big as their brain and who believe in a vision that technology can be meaningful and emotionally-rich.

Our social discovery network allows people to share and connect around the things that matter most to them. From experiences ranging from fighting cancer to obsessing over contemporary art to confessing that you love your dog more than life itself, Experience Project has it all.

As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in creating a service that touches countless people, businesses, brands, and more.  Your work will help shape the future of how emotion is expressed and understood, and will drive awareness to the groundbreaking revelations we are uncovering.  We have worked hard to create a culture of openness, sharing, critical thinking, and filled with those ready to do good while doing well.

This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced Android Developer to lead us in building a first-class mobile app that will transform the way people discover and connect around shared experiences.

The Role:

Passion for mobile products & development with demonstrable dedicated Android development experience. You must be able to leverage the latest cutting-edge web & mobile technologies, strong belief that simplicity trumps complexity in most circumstances, and comfortable with the fact that practicality beats purity.

Requirements:

  • Has developed apps that are currently available for download with dedicated users
  • Extensive Java or C/C++ background, working on complex software projects using major programming languages: C/C++, C#, Java, or Objective-C
  • Thorough understanding of Android SDK
  • Strong understanding of HTTP/REST/API architecture
  • Visual design savvy, attention to detail, familiarity with UI/UX standards
  • Deep knowledge of Android UI interaction, user flows, and Android-specific interface design patterns

About Us:

Kanjoya was founded on the principle that technology should serve to enrich lives. Our journey started in 2006 with Experience Project™, created to provide a platform for connecting people based on shared life experiences. People come from all walks of life to share stories and life’s journeys, from their happiest times to their most anguished moments. Experience Project has grown to become the largest living collection of shared experiences between more than 15 million people every month. People come to share and consume the stories that make us human, and to connect with others who understand them.

While Experience Project powers human-to-human connections, Kanjoya created Perception™ as a cloud-based platform for businesses to better understand their communities and individuals. Perception enables businesses to analyze and understand the emotion and intuition that influence action, known as intuitive analytics. Based on a decade of technical innovation, Kanjoya’s technology deciphers expression and achieves human understanding through technology.

Culture:

We're a team of passionate, driven, creative, and fun-loving people who work hard and know how to celebrate our success. We have all the perks you would associate with a great start up, catered lunch, stocked kitchen, flexible environment, excellent benefits, and generous PTO.

Kanjoya is based in the Financial District of San Francisco. Investors include Floodgate, Baseline, SV Angel, and D.E. Shaw.
