Job Title:  Senior Product Manager 


Job Location:  Greater Boston Area 


Job Description:  Reporting to VP of Product and Solutions, this role will be the unifying force behind Kaminario’s product strategy and execution. The successful candidate will be able to combine great instinct for developing compelling products with strong academic background, technical aptitude and business sense. The individual will gather requirements, help define product vision and strategy, and work closely with world-class engineers to execute it.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create effective market and product requirement documents with use cases for new product features based on a deep understanding of our technical capabilities as well as customer needs and market trends
  • Gather and analyze feedback from sales, marketing, development, and the market
  • Support development of product strategy, roadmap and priorities
  • Manage the creation of new products/features, from beginning to end of the product lifecycle, including release management, bug tracking and post sales inquiries.
  • Conduct business-level verification and market testing of new features
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with leaders in engineering, manufacturing, quality, service, docs, business operations, etc. 
  • Monitor and measure the success of your products to influence future products and to provide insights and guidance to marketing, sales, and manufacturing.
  • Support go-to-market efforts.


Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Team player
  • B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science, or equivalent engineering or science degree preferred.
  • 5+ years product management experience in a storage enterprise - a must
  • 5-7 years mid-range industry experience in product management in high technology
  • Deep knowledge in one or more of the following domains: Virtualization/ VMWare/ Cloud/ Analytics/ Big Data
  • Demonstrated ability to gather user requirements across diverse product areas and convert them into a compelling product vision
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and people management skills
  • Experience working with customers
  • Good presentation skills
  • Motivated to excel
  • "Roll-up-your-sleeves" entrepreneurial, startup attitude
  • Concise and effective in communications, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to work effectively in a geographically-distributed team.
  • Willing and able to travel- up to 20%
