Finance/Operations/HR Director for Health 2.0 (PT)

Health 2.0 LLC has come a tremendously long way in five short years. We run

--the leading conference for health technology innovation
--the leading challenges in health technology for ONC & private clients
--a series of very popular code-a-thons
--the Health 2.0 media network (news, TV, the Health 2.0 Show) and more
--the Health 2.0 Advisors market intelligence service
--Matchpoint and some really exciting commercialization services

We've more than doubled in size in the last year & we need a financial and operations upgrade.

This role will take over all the adminstraton and financial work done by the current owners: The role will 

--manage a PT boolkeeper (and be able to do urgent stuff when they're are not around)
--authorize all transactions (managae online bank, approve monthly payments, do wires, etc)
--manage payroll function (currently outsourced, but probably have bookeeper do it)
--do budget reports & projections for management 
--onboarding & exit of employees. including offer letters etc
--day to day HR adminstration
--administer benefits (health insurance, dealing with vendors, etc)
--day to day SF office management (minor part of role)
--dealing with workers comp/insurance/brokers etc
--legal stuff around company & the associated 501c3 Health 2.0 Advocates (filing with sec of state stuff, etc)
--liaise with Accountant on year end, taxes, etc
 
We're currently using Quickbooks but are very open to improvements in bookeeping and HR systems as a whole and this role in general needs to help us improve on what we're doing on the transaction/banking/operations technology side

You will be:

  • Experienced in financial management, accounting, HR processs (and understand QuickBooks even if you hate it!)
  • Skilled in many necessary tools across operations
  • An organized project manager
  • Energetic & prepared to role up your sleeves
  • Prepared to tell us how it's done, not just wait for us to tell you what to do
  • Ready to commit to getting results

We're not looking for a new graduate getting their feet wet. Instead we're looking someone who can give us real results quickly and has 3-10+ years experience across a growing business. We're more focused on someone who understands how to get stuff done, than specific qualifications or previous roles.

This probalby suits someone who ran operations & finance for a 20-40 person business and wants to bring those systems to a slightly smaller but growing company (approx 15 FTEs)

You'll work directly for the Co-Chairman Matthew Holt, and liaise closely with our senior staff and entire team. 

This is a part time role (40%) and we want  this person to come to our  San Francisco office at least 1-2 times a week. We think this would suit someone consulting with several business or working part time (perhaps mixing this with managing children in school?).
