About the position:
We are looking for an Art Director to help us design the future of GLOSSYBOX US, from our New York office. The candidate should bring 4 years of experience working for a fashion/beauty brand, design studio, upscale magazine or design-driven corporate environment with a clear vision and design language matching the GLOSSYBOX luxury approach to beauty. A great portfolio, excellent communication skills both visually and verbally, strong leadership skills, and the strength needed to work within a young and fast-paced start-up atmosphere are indispensable.
Lead concept and art direction and approve of all brand assets including graphics, online advertising, web editorial and collateral, e-commerce product photography and video, PR materials, internal communications (business cards, stationery, etc).
Ensure consistent brand voice and visual language across all marketing and communication channels.
Constantly develop seasonal concepts and come up with Glossybox limited edition concepts.
Articulate and present creative concepts to leadership, peers and direct reports.
Lead seasonal marketing campaigns through all phases of the design process: from development of strategic intent through conceptual mock-up to final holistic execution.
Engage with the CMO on a strategic level to develop advertising and drive traffic.
Manage and develop team of producers, graphic designers, and copywriters.
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design/Communication Arts.
4+ years’ experience in graphic design and art direction, with a focus on fashion/beauty/luxury.
Advanced knowledge of photography, typography, mechanical and print production.
Technical knowledge with the ability to execute creative using InDesign Photoshop, Illustrator and 3D programs.
Superb typographic and iconographic skills.
Strong editorial sensibility and excellent layout skills.
Ability to organize, multi-task and quickly manage large and diverse workload with changing deadlines and priorities.
Team player with ability to lead and work autonomously.
Appreciation of the balance between creative and business opportunities.
Experience working with a start-up preferred.
