Hot Lead Supervisor

Reports To: Kitchen Manager

Pay Rate: Salary

The Hot Lead Supervisor will lead a team of cooks and prep cooks and reports to the Kitchen Manager.  The Hot Lead Supervisor is responsible to ensure production of all hot entrees leaving the kitchen on a daily basis.

 Responsibilities:

  • Open the building on a daily basis.
  • Execute recipes and plating procedures per approved SOPs from Kitchen Manager.
  • Complete knowledge of kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure food quality standards by showing commitment to quality from the execution of SOP from start to finish.
  • Maintain a food safe environment, complying with State, Federal, and Choicelunch Food Safety Policies.
  • Maintain budgeted food costs through waste reduction, proper planning, and staff management.
  • Responsible for maintaining food quality control; including consistency, presentation, and taste standards.
  • Maintain staff resource planning for daily production.
  • Develop and coordinate weekly production plans.
  • Ensure product preparation and availability to meet production plans.
  • Conduct kitchen orientation for all new kitchen employees.
  • Effectively communicate and practice all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Manage all employee injuries while on duty.  Utilize company outlined accident reporting.
  • Establish a culture of respect, hard work, consistency, and effective communication with all team members.
  • Supports preventative maintenance on oven equipment and advises management when repair or maintenance is needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and follows through on requests in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years culinary experience in a busy foodservices environment.  Previous experience in a high volume commissary type facility a plus.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and physically perform requirements of job.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to work well with others, participates as a team player, and inspires their team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong math skills.
  • ServSafe certification.
