Senior Product Manager

Location: San Mateo, CA

  • Define, manage and own the roadmap to enable the B2C and B2B operations, including the integration and selection of supply, the management of orders, the expansion of logistical administration, and the deliverance of an exceptional customer fulfillment experience
  • Understand unmet needs of internal and external customers, existing problems, and opportunities for improvement to drive system and workflow optimizations
  • Through data driven insights, evaluate and recommend innovative solutions to common problems
  • Quickly develop an in-depth understanding of Rafter's B2B and B2C platforms, to propose exciting opportunities to expand system intelligence, administration tools and controls.
  • Challenge traditional solutions for supply chain management, order management, and fulfillment systems; proposing innovative technical alternatives that demonstrate Rafter's customer focus and quest to scale it's thriving business
  • Liaison with strategic partners and developers - providing the thought leadership and business requirements in the development of Rafter and Partner systems
  • Maintain a keen awareness of the competitive operating systems as it relates to B2B Educational software and B2C supply and fulfillment.

Must be Able to Demonstrate:

  • Ability to imagine the world from multiple perspectives, put customers first, notice things that others miss and use insight to inspire others.
  • Ability to use analytical processes along with an ability see all the key points and things that seem to contradict aspects of a problem. Use novel solutions to solve existing and/or emerging problems.
  • An inbuilt belief that there will be a solution for any given problem.
  • Ability to lead engineers, understanding their need for business requirements and sound judgment calls that based on data
  • A notable understanding that significant innovations don’t come about from small incremental tweaks and not one to accept status quo
  • Ability to work along side, and lead, people with different disciplines; exhibiting more than one discipline themselves and consistently promoting teamwork
  • An exceptional ability to communicate in written and verbal form; bringing a dynamic and energetic presence to every situation

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of at least 10 years hands on experience as a Product Manager, System Manger or Engineer
  • Experience working in start-up environments
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent impactful products or systems
  • Technical background, experience in product development or engineering
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams by influencing in situation where their is no formal authority
  • Delivering effective software or systems; Must be able to provide one or more examples
  • Management of offshore Engineering resources is a plus
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar is REQUIRED. MS and above preferred.
