Full Stack Software Engineer for Start-Up
Are you interested in helping lead the development of our online, locally focused, small business platform? Are you interested in the latest technologies (rails, node.js, redis, scala, backbone)? Do you like deploying code to millions of users multiple times a day? Do you like developer freedom in building great new features? Are you intrigued by the idea of helping small businesses connect and transact with their customers online? We are currently supporting 90,000+ small business users on our platform and need to plan for 5X -- can you help us scale and build a better experience? All while staying lean and efficient?
We are a profitable fast growing early-stage start-up. We are one of the early leaders in a very large market -- giving small business service providers the tools they need to schedule appointments and complete transactions with their customers -- sort of like an Opentable for everything else. VC funding? No need! We are profitable and self-funded and hope to stay that way through hard work, innovation and a little bit of pluck. Our San Francisco office comes with cityscape views and is a few minutes walk from the Montgomery BART stop.
How Our Business Works:
We provide an online booking engine that gives small service providers the ability to sell their time and services through their own website or facebook page. So, if you are a massage therapist with a studio, or a real estate agent looking to generate consultations, or a plumber on the move and not at your phone, our software fills up your appointment calendar by booking business directly on your website.
You will help take our product to the next level -- building cutting edge features like recommendations, making it faster, and increasing scale to meet the new customers that are signing up in big numbers. You will be working on front-end, back-end and even a little bit of plumbing. In short, a bit of a technical jack of all trades who is interested in learning all of the different aspects of a start-up technology company, from the core product to the revenue generating pieces.
We are big believers in being lean -- we were ramen profitable before we even knew what that meant. We work hard, work closely but definitely make sure to have a life outside the office. We bring in lunch frequently just to hang out (I'm eating a crunchy, extra-delicious-because-its-free southern fried chicken leg from Little Skillet as I type this). We are small but that doesn't stop us from revolutionizing entire industries.
We pay competitive salaries (a real paycheck) + a bonus based on how the whole company does + meaningful equity in an early stage, profitable, fast-growing business. Work with fun, energetic people. Have your work impact hundreds of thousands of end users right away. Build something that you can be part of from start to finish. Lastly -- learn what it takes to build a profitable business in case you want to start your own someday.
