Bleacher Report and Turner Sports is seeking a seasoned, dynamic PR professional. Serving as PR Manager for Bleacher Report, based in San Francisco, this person will be a key contributor in the day-to-day publicity efforts on behalf of the company. Core responsibilities include:
Strategic Development & Implementation – Working closely with the Turner Sports public relations team, the PR Manager will help create and implement a communications strategy for Bleacher Report, a top multi-sport destination, that leverages key industry events and product launches, editorial opportunities and more to generate proactive, impactful publicity for the brand. As the main daily communications contact in the B/R’s San Francisco office, the PR Manager will be the primary on-site contact for executive management and their teams, playing a key role in meetings and overall strategic direction.
Spokesperson Management – Bleacher Report is a company with thought leaders paving the way for continuous innovation throughout our industry. As the PR Manager, one of the main tasks will be continuing to seek opportunities for senior management to further share their unique perspectives through media interviews, speaking appearances and professional award opportunities. Along the way, the PR Manager will assist with messaging, speech writing and presentation development. The PR Manager will also be a main point person on site for select media appearances and interviews.
Content Publicity – “Content is King” and Bleacher Report is one of the most popular online destinations for sports fans seeking the most in-depth information on their favorite teams. The PR Manager will develop, manager and execute consistent publicity outreach for major editorial initiatives featured on the site. They will also drive awareness for the lead writers and further position them as experts in their respective fields while generating impactful coverage opportunities which expand the reach and perception of the Bleacher Report brand.
Communications Team – At Bleacher Report and Turner Sports, we’re all about teamwork and collaboration. The PR Manager will work closely with the overall communications team across Turner Sales, Distribution and Sports to develop and execute publicity initiatives that showcase the strength of the Turner portfolio, including announcements and ongoing PR activities. The PR Manager will also serve as a communications representative for Turner at various events including sports events, technology and media conferences.
- At least 5-7 years of work experience in communications field
- Proficiency in social media tools & platforms
- Experience working with high-level executive teams
- A background in working with sports or technology media
- Four-year undergraduate degree (communications/liberal arts related field)
- Teamwork/collaborative spirit
- Excellent PR writing skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Analytical skills
- Confidence in leadership abilities
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and usage
