Overview:

Apsalar is looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our growing team of highly talented individuals. As our Data Scientist, you will help our clients manage their customer engagement & monetization better. You will be working with our customer success team to devise segmentation and targeting strategies, leveraging Apsalar’s terabytes of rich behavioral data to gain insight on mobile users and how to serve them better. You will gain valuable experience working in the redhot mobile industry, and working with some of the sharpest minds in the business. This position will be located in Denver, CO or San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Data mining on Apsalar’s mobile behavioral database
  • Predictive modeling and model validation
  • Prototyping, testing & integration of new analytical products into the Mobile Marketing Platform

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning or related quantitative field
  • 5+ years experience building customer segmentation, predictive response, bid-optimization or similar models.
  • Mastery/expertise around regression methods, clustering methods, and information-based data reduction methods is required.
  • Strong scientific abilities, including the ability to question and test your own hypotheses
  • Experience with R applied to large data sets; Python and SciPy/Numeric/Matplotlib/Pandas/SKLearn coding skills a significant plus.
  • Ability to manipulate large volumes of data without requiring hand-holding; Experience working with parallel computing applied to data mining, particularly within the Hadoop family of technologies.
  • Mastery of PostgreSQL or other SQL variants required; experience with MADLib and other large-data SQL-like analytical interfaces a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and to tight deadlines is required.
