Job Description


Anaplan is a start up with a revolutionary new platform that will enable Analysts, Managers and Executives across companies of all sizes to create and share important business data and insights. 5-10 years experience in each 3 critical area:

  1. Subject matter expertise in finance/accounting/financial management systems including budgeting, forecasting with a deep understanding of a significant number of specific use cases (e.g. workforce planning, operating expense planning, revenue planning, capital expenditures, cost of manufacturing/goods sold, cash flow, etc).  Financial modeling expertise with multiple use cases should come from a combination of education (MBA, CPA), industry experience (e.g. Controller, CFO, Dir FP&A) and systems implementations (Cognos, Hyperion, Business Objects, TM1, etc).  MS Excel knowledge of model building in spreadsheets including driver calculations, pivot tables, LOOKUP formulas, Conditionals and SUMIF’s with unequivocal ability to translate from XLS to Multi-dimensional technologies.  In depth knowledge of at least 2 industry verticals (e.g.  Pharma, Finance, Energy).  Adept at understanding the relationship between financial management processes and their execution in existing systems and transforming/re-engineering to multi-dimensional technologies.
  2. Technical expertise with multi-dimensional systems implementations.  Hands on development of the use cases identified in the subject matter expertise area at a tool specific knowledge level.  Fluency with the use of at least two multi-dimensional systems (Cognos, Hyperion, Business Objects, TM1 etc).  Not a project manager, but a model builder with these tools.  Knowledge of Business Intelligence systems must include read-write multi-dimensional arrays.  Specific experience with data integration (in-bound and out-bound), calculation logic/scripts, data flows through multi-dimensional models.  
  3. Client facing skills which demonstrate a successful track record of engagement management complex implementations have been delivered.   Experience should come from having delivered 5+ years of consulting/implementation experience with multi-dimension systems.  Demonstrable experience will be multiple projects of duration between 2-6 months, execute simultaneous project delivery, preparing for clients/customers and using the following  engagement management documents (SOW’s, Project Milestones, Requirements/scoping documents, Progress/Status Reports, User acceptance training, Data Validation, ) to move engagements form initiation through project sign-off.  Familiarity reviewing use cases from customer requests (could be XLS, models, existing MD implementations or other systems) and conceiving and executing proof-of-concept models.
