Sr. Software Engineer - Ad Platforms

Job Description


At 33Across we leverage one of the largest social and interest graphs in the world to help our advertising and publishing clients increase their reach and gain insights about their audience. We apply machine learning and graph algorithms to build advertising segments, extract insights out of social and interest data, and make them actionable via high-performance distributed systems that integrate with our advertising partners.


  • Develop advertising products and platforms spanning web services, real-time distributed systems, data warehouses for marketing and social insights, distributed data stores, etc.
  • Work with research and engineering teams to take social and behavioral algorithms from prototype to production.
  • Integrate with API’s exposed by our advertising and data partners to transfer and process data.
  • Develop software applications and platforms in Java and scripting languages on Linux, leveraging open source technologies.


  • Excellent programming skills in Java and at least one scripting language.
  • 2+ years in the online advertising industry with experience working on one or more of the following platforms: scalable web services, high-performance distributed systems, ad servers, ad targeting platforms, real-time bidders, etc.
  • 7+ years of experience in back-end software development.
  • A strong background in OOD/P, software design skills, and software engineering best practices.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  • The following qualifications are highly desirable:
    • Prior experience working in startups and/or Big Data.
    • Personal projects outside work, participation in hackathons, contributions to open source, etc.
    • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
    • Master’s degree in CS or equivalent.
