User Experience Designer (Contract)

33Across is seeking an experienced designer to create the user experience for the next-generation of content discovery and ad experiences for our 625,000+ Tynt publishers.  You will drive user experience design, usability testing and creative design of Tynt's new consumer-facing experience as well as supporting the publisher-side workflows/interfaces. 

This is an opportunity to create from a blank sheet of paper a unified cross-device user experience...you will not be bored!

This role will be 20-30 hours a week in our Sunnyvale, CA office.


  • Design, test, and iterate Tynt's patent-pending mobile comsumer experience around seraching, sharing and content discovery on touch devices.
  • Gather user data and feedback through ethnographic studies, user tests, A/B tests, and analytics.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes and light-weight visual specs & flows.
  • Create Photoshop asset of UI elements and ad templates, both directly and through management of freelance resources.


  • 5+ years of design experience for shipped consumer/mobile products that have large user bases.
  • Enjoys the detailed and iterative work of building simple, intuitive, and great-looking user experiences.
  • Web design sensibilities and familiarity with the constraints of HTML5 on Mobile/Tablet devices, and how native apps are better/worse.
  • Understanding of mobile technologies, their capabilities, and interface guidelines...and a willingness to challenge those limitations in creative ways that delight users.
  • Experience working with startup teams and 1.0 products.
