We’re seeking an SEO manager to help guide Tonic in our effort to become the world’s leading destination for good. Tonic is, by definition, “anything morally, mentally, or physically inspiring.” It also sounds a lot like a fizzy beverage you would chug out of a laboratory beaker if you were in the business of drinking superhero potions. Tonic seeks to inspire an entire movement of real-life heroes who want to share good and do good. <strong>Description</strong></p>

Tonic is looking for an experienced SEO expert to understand and use web tools to track site traffic, rankings, social media analytics and content. The right candidate will employ strategies to increase site traffic through organic search listings (and avoid blacklisting); and, understand and maximize SEO of HTML code and content, link architecture and navigation issues.</p>

The ideal candidate will be <strong><em>organized</em></strong>, well-rounded and able to wear multiple hats at the same time. This person should be passionate about the Internet, social media and have the skills and enthusiasm to help our business grow.</p>

You’ll report to Tonic’s CEO and Founder, but you’ll mostly work independently. We’re looking for someone who strives for excellence but who also wants a chance to spread their wings and play a crucial role at a fast-moving company.</p>
<p>
<strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive organic search engine optimization recommendations</li>
<li>
Conduct keyword analysis/research and develop quality keyword portfolio utilizing SEO tools and resources</li>
<li>
Implement Web Analytics tracking onto Tonic web properties</li>
<li>
Consult on technical site issues pertaining to coding and site architecture</li>
<li>
Recommend optimization for various site components including copy, page title/descriptions, site architecture, filenames</li>
<li>
Navigate a variety of search analytics tools to mine the appropriate performance data (experience with Google Analytics, social media and other analytics programs an asset)</li>

<strong>Qualifications</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field and 2+ years experience</li>
<li>
Must be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of organic search, the industry, and best practices in this industry</li>
<li>
Strong Research skills as the individual must be able to review articles, blogs, web discussion forums, press releases, etc. and be able to extract the key points from an SEO and technical perspective</li>
<li>
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; previous experience in professional writing an asset</li>
<li>
Comfortable with Excel and similar “number crunching” skills</li>
<li>
Ability to understand HTML and CSS and/or experience with URL rewriting, content management systems, blogging platforms, and social media an asset</li>
