TellApart is creating a predictive customer analytics platform that will massively enhance online marketing. Others talk about Big Data, but not all data is created equal. TellApart has access to some of the most valuable shopping data in the world across dozens of retailers, and we’re just starting to unlock its potential with our cutting edge technology.
TellApart centers its vision on helping e-commerce companies drive incremental revenue through the use of their own customer data. We are building a next-generation customer database for large online retailers. We believe in the promise of a better future for retail, one where retailers know their customers intimately and can serve up a better online experience than offline. Impossible? We think not.
Our first application on the market is a product that helps retailers connect with customers and prospects when they are off of the retailer’s website. This form of remarketing can be very powerful when it is personalized and directed. In some cases, we are able to add an incremental 10% to retailers’ bottom lines with user click-through rates of 10%. That means that remarketing with TellApart is a multi-million dollar opportunity for online retailers.
Your Role
TellApart is a young company comprised primarily of engineering talent, we are seeking to hire an equally amazing sales organization to help us continue to build our customer base. Far from a scenario of just "we build it, you sell it," we're looking for someone who can also help us form the product direction to fit the biggest needs of our clients. Your role will have all encompassing involvement in our go-to-market efforts and will immediately own all direct sales efforts.
Responsibilities
- Drive client acquisition and growth for our primary e-commerce application, and ensure high performance of client campaigns via deep understanding of their business objectives.
- Cultivate personal relationships with executives at online commerce companies (including the IR500) and maintain sales pipeline and revenue forecast.
- Aggressively track against quota and goals.
- Assist in building internal support groups (Ad Ops, Research, Optimization) and in the definition and creation of new client-driven applications.
- Develop Sales methodologies and assist in creation of materials to scale to hundreds of clients.
- Bachelor's degree. Masters or MBA a plus.
- Extensive experience with online marketing, software solution sales, online media sales.
- Deep knowledge of online marketing: channels, platforms, pricing; knowledge of online retail category and primary marketing decision drivers.
- Proven track record of selling to online merchants, especially direct response-oriented marketing team; successful account management including regularly exceeding sales targets.
- Relentlessly resourceful and scrappy; you thrive in an early stage environment.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and distill & translate key findings to client; exceptional presentation skills, including ability to modify own pitch and marketing materials.
- Technical background: programming, sales engineering, professional services.
- Experience with data analytics and comfort with advanced Excel features.
- Experience with graphic design software packages for basic image creation/manipulation.
- Active participation in retailer community and industry bodies (Shop.org/eTail/Internet/ Retailer).
