Customer Success Manager at TellApart, Inc. in Burlingame, CA
Account Manager Job Description

About TellApart:

TellApart is creating a predictive customer analytics platform that is massively enhancing online marketing. We are a small team (growing quickly!), founded and run by Google veterans, and we are well-funded by a top venture capital firm (Greylock Partners) and many of Silicon Valley's most prominent angel investors, including: Ron Conway, Reid Hoffman, Baseline Ventures, and Dick Costolo. We are already processing millions of transactions for our early clients, and here your work will have the potential to affect the ecommerce experience for hundreds of millions of Internet users.

Responsibilities:

Here is what you’re going to be asked to do across a range of functional areas in the first 90 days, before your job will evolve and add additional responsibilities.

Account Management

You are a whiz at both client service and complex analysis. You balance soft skills like grace and empathy with strong analytical chops and a passion for data-driven solutions. As our lead Account Manager you will help produce account summaries for our clients, explaining new products and suggesting campaign improvements.

You are hyper-organized and take great pleasure in inventing repeatable processes that don’t break and improve over time. You will create best-in-class updates, developing great relationships with our early clients and helping to enhance TellApart’s reputation as a top-tier service organization. You will take pride in improving our Net Promoter score in your first few months.

You are analytically minded and scrappy. You relish the opportunity to negotiate with Ad Networks when it looks like a better deal can be had. You take pleasure in designing A/B tests to prove out your hypotheses. You will be fluent in our retailers’ data and will have trouble sleeping if something seems awry. Your nose for teasing out causality will help you get to the bottom of tricky issues. When you report your findings, your presentations are clean, concise and thought-provoking.

You are empathetic and are proactive about soliciting online marketing goals from our clients. You excel at organizing and communicating their needs to our technical product development team.

You are naturally talented at customer service. You will help us recruit and train superior account managers over time to amplify our reputation as a great service-oriented vendor.

Analysis

Your key role in marketing will be to build significant relationships with our existing clients and leverage these strong relationships over time into introductions to other potential e-commerce clients.

You must be extremely proficient in Excel-based data analysis. On a monthly basis you will analyze the change in performance, calling out problems that need to be addressed by the team and suggesting improvements.

You will be expected to contribute to the marketing efforts of new products that we are building. This may include activities like the creation of leave-behind marketing materials, writing retailer-specific reports & collating client feedback/concerns to our team in an organized fashion.

You will need to be effective at inside sales. As all but our largest prospects come in to our customer pipeline you must be able to handle introductory calls, technical integration questions, creative asset questions and other parts of our client on-ramping process. You will have a focus on converting high quality inbound interest into up-and-running clients, all the while raising up important questions/concerns to the rest of the business team.
