Etsy is creating the world’s most vibrant handmade marketplace. We are looking for an Accounting Associate to help our growing finance/accounting department. The position will report to the Controller and work closely with other members of our business operations department.

In this role the Accounting Associate will perform routine, administrative work within the accounting department in addition to performing a variety of finance/accounting work. Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting is required.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable entry and reconciliation.
• Assist with purchasing process
• Month end bank reconciliation of multiple accounts
• Assist in monthly close including journal entries
• Accrued vacation tracking
• Assist in year-end audit and tax preparation
• Assist in the preparation of board reports
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills

BA degree or equivalent required
Demonstrates competence in various accounting functional areas: accounts payable, purchasing, GAAP accounting, etc.
Strong organizational skills
Strong Excel skills (Access knowledge a plus)
Appreciation of DIY and the handmade way of life.
