Media & PR Intern at EarlyShares.com in Miami, FL
Media & PR Intern
EarlyShares is looking for an enthusiastic and charismatic candidate to join the team.
What we do:
Earlyshares.com is a new powerful platform for investing, based on the principals of engagement, connection and making dreams of entrepreneurship and business a reality. Founded in late 2011, EarlyShares founders and team members have worked tirelessly to establish EarlyShares as the funding portal to host crowdfunding. If you don’t know what crowdfunding is, then this position is not for you. If you know all about this up-and-coming industry, and you’re eager to jump in the middle of it all, apply to join our team!
What you will be doing:
Your primary responsibility will be to the in-house media manager. This means you will coordinate with our PR agent and develop and maintain relationships with local news, radio, and web outlets, to maximize EarlyShares’ presence in the community while also staying on top of what we’re doing nationally. You will need to draft blurbs and newsletters to e-mail out to people registered on our website and on our mailing list. You will be the go-to person for all media-related projects on a local level, while staying in touch with our national efforts by staying in sync with our PR agent.
Your day-to-day activities will generally consist of typing up blurbs, tweets, or general “mini” press-releases we can send out via social media outlets or the weekly newsletter. You will also reach out to local media sources such as college and other local radio stations, local newspapers (including local high school newspapers), college and general local news stations, and any web-news sources based locally. The objective is to let the nation know the impact EarlyShares is making in the nation’s emerging crowdfunding industry, by starting strong in our local home-base: Miami.
In addition to your general day-to-day activities, you will be involved with numerous brainstorming sessions. Don’t be shy to input your own ideas! You should be proactive in finding opportunities or emerging trends relating to crowdfunding or anything else that would affect EarlyShares.
