JOB DESCRIPTION

Linux Virtualization Engineer Level 2

Type of Position: Systems Engineering
Location: Austin TX, Lenexa KS, or Phoenix AZ US
Compensation: Salary + Bonus

SUMMARY:

Codero Hosting is looking for an experienced Linux Virtualization Engineer Level 2, who is passionate about Linux-based virtualization technologies, to work with current team members to engineer and deploy the next generation of Cloud computing products and services at Codero.

The Linux Virtualization Engineer Level 2 will work in an entrepreneurial start-up environment focused on providing reliable Dedicated, Managed, and Cloud Hosting services worldwide. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist in the development of Cloud, Hybrid and other company virtualization initiatives.
  2. Perform system administration of *nix systems and hypervisors including Xen and KVM.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum four (4) years of Linux systems administration experience.
  2. Minimum two (2) years experience with the KVM or Xen Hypervisor.
  3. Minimum one (1) year experience with open-source virtualization platforms OpenStack or CloudStack.
  4. Proven ability to lead colleagues and cross-functional technical teams.
  5. Superior technical expertise and work ethic.
  6. Superior understanding of Linux-based operating systems and Windows servers.
  7. Advanced understanding of Internet networking connectivity technologies including firewalls, TCP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, and load balancing.
  8. Perform preventive maintenance on servers.
  9. Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve causes of difficult server performance problems.
