K-12 Implementation Specialist

 

Job Summary

The K-12 Implemenation Specialist is responsible for ensuring successful implementation and rollout of the K-12 solution, Naviance, with schools and school districts. The K-12 Implementation Specialist serves as a technical and business advisor who employs best practices and project management methodology to guide members to effectively use the solution to meet business requirements and ensure member satisfaction.  In this role, the Implementation Specialist is responsible for mitigating project risk by managing the project plan, communications plan, tasks, deliverables, timelines, and coordinating resources in adherence to the terms outlined in service level agreements and/or statements of work. The Implementation Specialist serves as the single point of contact for the member on all aspects related to the Naviance implementation.

  • Dallas, TX

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of contact to stakeholders on communications, decision-making, and change management procedures related to the project
  • Facilitate project kick-off to determine goals and objectives for the implementation
  • Coordinate availability of company resources needed for successful implementation including professional development and support
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor the project plan and scope of work, including tasks, timelines, resources and milestones
  • Identify issues, concerns and project risks and mitigate those risks
  • Execute the communication plan including regularly scheduled conference calls and meetings to monitor project activities, attainment of benchmarks, and to establish next steps
  • Communicate in a timely manner to member management and decision makers on project status and progress of activities and tasks
  • Conduct project updates and milestone reviews and adjust project timeline and schedules as needed
  • Identify additional professional services and/or product opportunities to expand member relationship and usage
  • Create and maintain all reference-able documentation and templates around project management methodology to ensure a reusable and repeatable process
  • Support Sales Managers on proposal creation by recommending the appropriate scope for professional services to meet member requirements
  • Coordinate with Sales on account transition for new accounts

 

Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with project management and implementation methodologies
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organizational skills and proven track record of meeting deadlines and timely delivery of all project related deliverables
  • Ability to clearly understand member expectations and manage project scope
  • Ability to build and deliver presentations to all levels of the member organization and effectively explain technical concepts in simple, understandable manner
  • Ability to position additional products and services into existing accounts based on needs assessed during the project lifecycle
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team of services professionals
  • Ambition, drive and ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Web applications
  • Experience with Naviance a plus
  • Completion of Hobsons K-12 new hire training upon hire

 

Minimum Qualifications

An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  An example of an acceptable qualification for this position is:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years consulting experience of which at least 3 years are project management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
  • Prior experience working in schools or with school districts preferred
  • Ability to travel (50% or more)

Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
