Data Warehouse Test Engineer
DataXu seeks a detail-oriented test engineer to own and expand testing for the reporting sub-system of DataXu’s media decision platform for online advertising. This is an opportunity to work on distributed high-performance systems and Big Data analytics in a collaborative team-oriented environment. Analyze product requirements and designs to create detailed test plans/test cases to confirm the accuracy of all data analytics reports
Develop automated tests to ensure appropriate Data Warehouse processing of incoming data and report generation
Synthesize and implement performance tests to analyze query and reporting performance.
Collaborate with engineers and business team members to ensure new features are designed and developed for testability and business value.
Participate in Release Acceptance testing to ensure Business Features are operational prior to each release
Develop and enhance internal tools to integrate Data Warehouse testing into existing System Tests
3+ years developing or testing ETL, data warehouse, and reporting systems.
Solid experience with large database systems, especially distributed environments.
Highly proficient in schema analysis and SQL development.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to quickly comprehend project goals/requirements, identify holes/omissions and testing challenges/impediments
Programming experience in Java, Ruby or other object oriented programming languages and familiarity with unit test frameworks.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
Experience in the advertisement field is highly desired
