Job Description

Liftopia is seeking a dynamic, experienced VP of Engineering to lead the next phase of our technical growth and expansion. We are seeking an engineering leader that can scale the Liftopia platform from tens of millions in transaction volume to hundreds of millions and grow the engineering team from 3 to +20.   Reporting to the management team of the company, the ideal individual will have a strong background in engineering management with a focus on scaling web and mobile applications and development teams.

The Challenge
Take over leadership and management of a rapidly growing engineering team and build an organization that can support and scale a technology stack that is facing hockey stick growth in both complexity and volume while expanding both the quantity and speed at which engineering delivers product.
Your Support
You will be a key member of the executive management team with full support from all leaders and the board of directors with significant financial resources to dramatically grow staff.  You will be taking over an existing talented and collaborative engineering team that has an unparalleled drive and passion.
Key Experience Required
  • Success growing and managing engineering teams from a handful of engineers to +20 engineers in a rapidly changing environment
  • Success establishing a culture and organization that attracts and retains top talent 
  • Success managing and mentoring a mature, goal-driven engineering team
  • Success established a process that allows the core technology stack to be scalable, flexible, and supportive of rapid feature development
  • Success managed architecture review and planning processes
  • Success leading architecture design and technology innovation efforts to deliver on a product roadmap
  • Success driving an efficient web and mobile product testing strategy 
  • Success partnering with Product Management, Operations, Support and Account Management to align development priorities to business needs and ensure customer success
  • Success working with virtual teams distributed across multiple geographies

Liftopia.com is the largest retailer of ski lift tickets on the web. The Liftopia platform helps ski resorts generate incremental sales through yield management, segmentation, and centralized distribution. The core mission of Liftopia is twofold: help skiers and snowboarders get out on the slopes more often, and help alpine resorts generate incremental revenue. The Liftopia platform gives alpine resorts the ability to sell advance-purchase, date-specific tickets, rentals, lessons and more, while still maintaining complete control over both the price and the quantity of items available for any given day.
